In what other ways might the framework for the classification of media content in Australia be improved?
A range of responses were made to this question, which can be identified around particular clusters: (1) the view that the majority of the Australian public want a reduced amount of government censorship of media, and see classification as being primarily about providing consumer information (top of infograph); (2) issues relating to defining community standards and handling complaints (top left); (3) the need for a consistent national classification framework, possibly involving a greater role for industry (left); (4) the need for an R18+ classification for computer games (bottom of infograph); and (5) greater assistance for parents in providing support around what their children may view of the Internet (right of infograph).
