Commonwealth Child Safe Framework Statement of Compliance

The ALRC is committed to keeping children safe, as outlined in the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework. The ALRC reviews its risk register regularly and has identified that the ALRC holds no responsibility for children and young people. ALRC staff do not interact directly with children or young people in the course of their work, but ALRC Legal Officers do consult with an Expert Advisory Group (EAG) coordinated by the Attorney-General’s Department as part of the Justice Responses to Sexual Violence Inquiry (concluding in January 2025), and a young person is a member of the EAG. The legal officers did not consult directly with the young person but did consult with the EAG as part of the ALRC inquiry. The ALRC ensures that all ALRC employees have access to the Commonwealth Child Safe Framework learning module and encourages all staff to complete the training annually.
