Grey Areas—Age Barriers to Work in Commonwealth Laws (DP 78)

This Discussion Paper commences the second stage in the consultation processes in this inquiry into Commonwealth legal barriers to older persons participating in the workforce or other productive work. It highlights ALRC thinking to date and puts forward proposals for law reform in the areas of recruitment and employment, work health and safety, insurance, social security, and superannuation.

The ALRC invites individuals and organisations to make submissions in response to the specific proposals and questions, or to any of the background material and analysis provided, to help advance the reform process.

The ALRC has also produced a Summary document, which provides an overview of the policy framework and is designed for stakeholders who already have a considerable understanding of the various issues.

The closing date for submissions was Friday 23 November 2012.
