Individual views and experiences

The ALRC has opened a survey to allow individual members of the public to contribute their personal views and experiences to its Inquiry into anti-discrimination laws as they apply to religious educational institutions. It will remain open until 24 February 2023.

The ALRC is particularly interested to hear from those connected with religious educational institutions (including schools, early learning centres, colleges, and universities). This survey is therefore aimed primarily at past and present students, staff, parents and carers, and members of wider school and college communities. However, all interested members of the public are able to complete the survey.

The survey is a consultation tool and is not intended to reflect a representative sample of the population. The ALRC will use the survey answers for qualitative purposes rather than to produce any statistical data. It will form only one source of information about the issues the subject of this Inquiry — the ALRC will also examine academic research, submissions to previous inquiries, ALRC consultation meetings, and submissions to the Consultation Paper.

Completing the survey does not preclude making a formal written submission on the law reform proposals contained in the Consultation Paper. The Consultation Paper will be released on 27 January 2023, with submissions open until 24 February 2023.
