Accessibility

Commonwealth departments and agencies are required by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to ensure that online information and services are accessible by people with disabilities.

The ALRC is committed to ensuring information and services on our website are accessible. In August 2012 Vision Australia provided a Statement of Accessibility confirming that the ALRC website satisfies Level AA Success Criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0), with the exception of documents provided to the ALRC by external stakeholders, such as submissions.

We aim to make our online resources available to everyone. However, in some cases (for example submissions or materials provided by other parties), information may not be available in an accessible format. If you have any difficulties accessing information or documents on this site, or if you experience any other accessibility difficulties, please contact the ALRC Web Manager.

A number of past Australian Law Reform Commission reports, predating electronic formats, have been posted on this website in PDF format. These PDF files have been generated by scanning printed pages. The Australian Law Reform Commission understands these documents may be inaccessible to some users. ASCII (text only) versions for users who may find the PDF documents unsuitable can be found on the AustLII website. Please note, the ASCII versions have been prepared using optical recognition software, and may contain errors that do not appear in the original printed versions. Some tables and graphs also may not be accurately reproduced. If assistance is required with these documents, contact the ALRC.
