Winner of 40th anniversary student essay competition announced

The ALRC is very pleased to announce the winner of the ALRC’s 40th anniversary essay competition.

Australian law students were asked to answer the following question in 1000 words or less:

Why is an independent ALRC good for Australia?

Congratulations go to Justin Pen from the University of Sydney, who provided the winning response. He has won an internship with the ALRC which he can undertake at a time of his choosing before graduation. Justin’s entry has been published on the ALRC website.

The ALRC received many quality entries for this competition. The judging panel would especially like to note runners-up, Arisha Arif from the Australian National University and Rosalind Acland from the University of New South Wales.
