On Tuesday 7 June, Monash University Law Faculty hosted the 2022 Fiat Justitia Lecture: Without Fear or Favour. ALRC President, the Hon Justice SC Derrington AM, presented the keynote address.
The address explored whether the judicial oath of office – to do right to all manner of people according to law, without fear, favour, affection or ill will – is sufficient for the modern judiciary to maintain the public’s confidence in the judicial process.
