Professor Rosalind Croucher, President

Professor Rosalind Croucher was appointed President of the Australian Law Reform Commission on 15 December 2009.

The Hon Justice Nye Perram, Part-time Commissioner

Justice Nye Perram was appointed a part-time Commissioner of the ALRC for a term of three years on 12 December 2012. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws and from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Civil Law. Justice Perram practised as a barrister in New South Wales from 1993 and was appointed senior counsel in 2006.

The Hon Justice John Eric Middleton, Part-time Commissioner

Justice Middelton was appointed a part-time Commissioner of the ALRC for a term of three years on 12 December 2012.

John Eric Middleton was appointed to the Federal Court of Australia effective from 31 July 2006.

He was appointed a Deputy President of the Australian Competition Tribunal effective from 16 February 2009.

He was appointed a presidential member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal effective from 24 November 2010.

The Hon Susan Ryan AO, Part-time Commissioner

The Hon Susan Ryan AO has been appointed as a part-time Commissioner to assist the ALRC with its inquiry into barriers to older workers in the workplace. Susan Ryan was appointed as Australia’s first Age Discrimination Commissioner with the Australian Human Rights Commission on 30 July 2011 for a five-year term.

Professor Jill McKeough, Commissioner

Professor Jill McKeough has been appointed to the ALRC for a period of 18 months, as Commissioner in charge of the Copyright and the Digital Economy inquiry. Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in 2005, Professor McKeough has extensive leadership experience in the tertiary sector including Head of School, Associate Dean (undergraduate) and Director of Postgraduate Programs in the Law Faculty at UNSW.

The Hon Justice Berna Collier, Part-time Commissioner

Justice Collier was appointed a part-time Commissioner of the ALRC for a term of three years on 2 October 2007. She was re-appointed to the position for a further 3 years in November 2010. Justice Collier has been a judge of the Federal Court of Australia, based in Brisbane, since February 2006.
