Purchasing publications
The ALRC is committed to improving public access to its work and all past reports and recent consultation papers are now available for free viewing and download (as PDFs and html) via this website. Many publications are also available for in print format and CD-ROM and can be purchased online. The ALRC only produces a fixed number of hard copy reports and is not able to provide further copies, once the initial reports produced have sold out.
Locate your publication
Whether you wish to download a free PDF or purchase a printed copy, the first step is to visit the Publications page and search for the item you are interested in. If a hard copy and/or CD-ROM is available, there will be an option to "Buy this publication".
Postage
To process your order quickly and accurately, it is important that prospective purchasers provide accurate contact details to the ALRC for each order they request.
The ALRC will use Australia Post normal delivery for all packages delivered in Australia.
The ALRC will use air mail for all postage outside of Australia.
The cost of postage will be calculated during the checkout process, prior to confirmation of the sale.
While the ALRC will wrap all book orders carefully in a standard Australia Post ‘tough bag’ to minimise possible damage during postage, the ALRC does not take responsibility for any damage to the item caused during postage.
Please note that the Commission requires pre-payment for all publications.
Terms and conditions
Payment is required before your order can be delivered to you.
The ALRC accepts the following credit cards for payment: Visa and Mastercard.
Delivery timeframes
The ALRC will endeavour to turnaround all orders within five working days. Delivery times for Australia post (normal delivery) are between 1 to 4 business days depending on the distance the article has to travel. International post should allow 7 working days.
Refund/return policy
The ALRC will only refund the cost of a purchase if the purchase is returned within two weeks of original postage and is in ‘as new’ condition. To minimise the likelihood of having to ask for a refund, the ALRC recommends that people view the ALRC reports online (free) to ensure that they do wish to make the purchase.
While the ALRC will wrap all book orders carefully in a standard Australia Post ‘tough bag’—and all C-DROMs in bubble wrap— to minimise any possible damage during postage, the ALRC does not take responsibility for any damage to the item caused during postage.
Consumer data policy
The ALRC does not use information collected as part of a publications sale for any purpose other than to enable the transaction to proceed. The ALRC does not collect data on its consumers. Please refer to the ALRC privacy policy for more information.
