The ALRC is committed to improving public access to its work and all past reports and recent consultation papers are now available for free download on this website.

Commission publications are available in hardcopy or CD formats from the ALRC.


Order a final report

Reports can be purchased from the Commission in hardcopy or CD formats.

How to order a final report

Step 1. — Check the publication price list for cost and availability of the publication.

Step 2. — Print out the publication order form

Step 3. — Postage and handling of a single volume hardcopy report is charged at:

  • $10.00 per item within Australia;

  • $38.00 within the Asia/Pacific region; and

  • $55.00 for the rest of the world

 Postage and handling for ALRC 108 (a three volume copy) is charged at:

  • $18.00 within Australia;

  • $68.00 for the Asia/Pacific region;

  • $115.00 (air) $56 (sea) for the rest of the world.

Postage and handling of a CD version of a report is charged at:

  • $4.00 per item within Australia;

  • $7.00 within the Asia/Pacific region and the rest of the world.

Please note that the Commission requires pre-payment for all publications. For bulk purchases, please contact the ALRC for postage costs.

Order a consultation paper

Consultation papers (background papers, discussion papers, issues papers) are provided free of charge while the inquiry remains current.

A cost applies to consultation papers ordered after the inquiry is finalised.

Consultation papers are available in hardcopy or CD formats.

How to order a consultation paper

Step 1. — Check the publication price list for availability of the publication. Current consultation papers are FREE.

Step 2. — Print out the publication order form

Step 3. — Postage and handling for current consultation papers is FREE.

Once an inquiry is concluded, postage and handling of a hardcopy consultation paper is charged at:

  • $10.00 per item within Australia;

  • $38.00 within the Asia/Pacific region; and

  • $55.00 for the rest of the world

Once an inquiry is concluded, postage and handling of a CD version of a consultation paper is charged at:

  • $4.00 per item within Australia;

  • $7.00 within the Asia/Pacific region and the rest of the world.

Order an annual report

How to order an annual report

Step 1. — Check the publication price list for availability of the publication.

Step 2. — Print out the publication order form
- RTF (rich text format, best viewed in Word)
- PDF (portable document format, requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

Step 3. — Postage and handling for a hardcopy version of the Annual Report is charged at:

  • $10.00 per item within Australia;

  • $38.00 for the Asia/Pacific region; and

  • $55.00 for the rest of the world.

Postage and handling of a CD version of the Annual Report is charged at:

  • $4.00 per item within Australia;

  • $7.00 within the Asia/Pacific region and the rest of the world.

Take out a standing order

Subscribers will receive all publications released by the Commission in a calendar year, including consultation papers, final reports, one annual report, two issues of Reform, and all postage and handling. A standing order for hard copies costs $195 per annum within Australia or $295 for delivery overseas. A standing order for publications in CD-ROM format costs $100 per annum within Australia or $195 for delivery overseas. All prices quoted are GST inclusive.
