Law reform inquiry to visit Coffs Harbour - Have your say on privacy & health
How should privacy laws protect health information? When should healthcare professionals be able to share a person’s health information with a family member or carer? What rules should apply before a person’s health information is used for medical research? Under what circumstances should health professionals be allowed to share electronically health information?
These are some of the questions the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) will be asking when it visits Coffs Harbour next week, as part of its major review of Australia’s privacy laws. This will be an important opportunity for residents of the Coffs Harbour region to provide input to the ALRC inquiry, which will report to the federal government.
We would like to hear from anyone with a privacy interest, experience or concern about where privacy laws are working well and where they could be improved.
