Australia's Federal Record: A Review of Archives Act 1983 (ALRC 85)
The Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) began its review of the Archives Act in August 1996.
An Issues Paper (IP 19) was released in 1996 and a Draft Recommendations Paper (DRP 4) in 1997. Both consultation papers were titled Review of the Archives Act 1983.
The final report, Australia's Federal Record: A Review of Archives Act 1983 (ALRC 85) was tabled in federal Parliament in July 1998.
There has been partial implementation of the recommendations in ALRC 85.
