Making Rights Count: Services for People with a Disability (ALRC 79)
ALRC 79 was the third report in a series of inquiries into Acts administered by the Department of Health and Family Services. This reference was received in August 1995.
As part of this inquiry, two consultation papers were released:
-
Commonwealth Disability Services: Questions for People Who Use Disability Services and People Who Would Like to Use Them (Issues Paper 15), in 1995; and
-
Commonwealth Disability Services Legislation: The Commonwealth's Disability Services Program and the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service: A Review of Legislation Administered by the Department of Human Services and Health (Discussion Paper 60) in 1995.
The final report was released in October 1996.
The other reports in the series, Child Care for Kids (ALRC 70) and The Coming of Age (ALRC 72) were tabled in federal Parliament in 1994 and 1995 respectively.
There has been partial implementation of the recommendations in ALRC 79.
