Continuing issues
Other reports into awarding costs and cost shifting - such as the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia's 1999 report Review of the Criminal and Civil Justice System - have reinforced the ALRC recommendations in ALRC 75.
The ALRC also referred to litigation costs in ALRC 27 Standing in Public Interest Litigation and ALRC 78 Beyond the Door-keeper: Standing to Sue for Public Remedies.
The issue of costs was revisited in the inquiry into the federal civil justice system, which concluded with the release of ALRC 89 Managing Justice: A Review of the Federal Civil Justice System.
