Managing Justice - the way ahead for civil disputes

The Australian Law Reform Commission’s conference, Managing Justice … the way ahead for civil disputes brought together leading international and Australian figures for a dynamic and thought-provoking conference in Sydney discussing civil justice issues.

Held from Thursday 18 May – Saturday 20 May 2000 at The Regent Sydney, the Managing Justice conference developed upon the ALRC’s four year review of the federal civil justice system.

The conference coincided with celebrations to mark the 25th Anniversary of the ALRC, with a gala dinner held on the evening of Friday 19 May. The Foundation Chairman of the ALRC, the Hon Justice Michael Kirby AC CMG, of the High Court of Australia, was the keynote speaker at the Anniversary Dinner. He was joined by foundation ALRC Commissioner and former High Court Chief Justice, the Hon Sir Gerard Brennan AC KBE and current ALRC President, Professor David Weisbrot.

Copies of the keynote speeches can be purchased from the ALRC for $30 (plus $5.50 postage and handling), by filling out a publications order form.
